Fritidsgarn from Sandnes Garn is a carded yarn made from 100 % Norwegian wool. The whole production process, from washing the wool to the finished ball, takes place at Sandnes Garn’s mill at Foss Eikeland in Sandnes.
Norwegian wool is light, hard-wearing and has good springiness, which helps the garment keep its shape over time. The yarn also gets softer the more it is used. Fritidsgarn is ideal for warm sweaters, cardigans, hats, mittens, slippers and other accessories. As it is a carded yarn, it is also very well suited to felting.
Wool does not need washing very often, so feel free to air the garment between wears. Garments knitted in Fritidsgarn should be hand washed and not left to soak, as the colours may bleed. Spin gently and leave the garment to dry flat, preferably on a towel. Do not use a laundry bag, as the friction can cause the garment to felt.
