Mohair

Mohair is a featherlight lace-weight yarn in a luxurious blend of 72 % mohair and 28 % silk. The yarn has a soft, airy structure and a beautiful lustre that gives both warmth and depth without feeling heavy.

It is perfect knitted on its own for delicate shawls, scarves and light garments, but it also works wonderfully held together with another yarn. By combining different colours you can create beautiful marled effects and give your project extra texture, softness and depth of colour.

The mohair comes from South Africa and is produced by an operation focused on biodiversity, clean production processes and ethical working conditions.

Ideal for: Shawls, scarves, lace knitting and light garments. Can also be knitted held double or combined with other yarns.

Note: Colours may vary slightly between dye lots and even between skeins from the same dye lot. We therefore recommend buying enough yarn for the whole project. For a more even colour distribution, you can alternate between two skeins as you work.
