The Island and the Forest: A Knitted Correspondence is a beautiful and personal book with 12 timeless, practical knitting patterns created by the Swedish designers Erika Åberg and Lotta H. Löthgren.
Through knitting and an exchange of letters, they explore nature, the changing seasons and the four elements – earth, water, fire and air. The inspiration comes from their lives on Gotland and in the forests of south-eastern Sweden, where landscape, wool and craft take centre stage.
