How to print it at the right size

  1. Choose your fabric: an Aida count, or an evenweave or linen count stitched over two threads.
  2. Pick A4 or Letter and the lines you want.
  3. Print, or download the PDF and print it at 100% or Actual size, not Fit to page.
  4. Measure the 1 inch and 1 cm bars at the bottom of the sheet. If they are right, every square is the size of one stitch.

How big is a square?

A square is 25.4 mm divided by the stitches per inch. On 14 count Aida that is 1.81 mm. On 28 count linen stitched over two it is the same, because two threads make one stitch. On 18 count it is 1.41 mm.

From paper to screen
